Went and saw True Grit recently, and thought it was a great film with a lot of very well composed scenes.
So I decided to make an Illustration based on the film.

Though i wasn't a fan of the movie as a whole, The night fight scene was an awesome scene and this painting definitely captures that feeling. really cool stuff. i love the see through under-painting around the edges. adds that feeling of grit. =)
ReplyDeletethe discoloration on the edges also keeps the painting from feeling too monochromatic. really a good choice
